Banff: Lake Annette Guided Hike with Moraine Lake Visit

Your day begins the easy way: hotel pickup in Canmore, Banff, or Lake Louise, then a scenic drive through the Bow Valley alongside the Bow River to the Moraine Lake Road. Access to Moraine Lake can be notoriously limited and logistically frustrating—shuttles, parking restrictions, and early-morning stress often define the experience. Not with us.  We start with a highlight most visitors struggle to experience properly: Moraine Lake. You’ll walk up the classic Rockpile for that world-famous view—electric-blue water framed by the Valley of the Ten Peaks—with time to take photos, breathe it in, and appreciate it without feeling rushed. 

 From here, we continue a few minutes to the Paradise Valley trailhead, where the real magic begins. The trail follows Paradise Creek through fragrant pine forest and open glades, with a gentle, steady ascent that feels remote from the very first steps. We’ll pause at handpicked viewpoints for short refreshment breaks—perfect moments to soak in the stillness, listen to the creek, and watch the scenery deepen as the valley narrows. 

 As the sound of rushing water grows louder, we make our final push through lush forest with Mt. Temple rising dramatically above. Then—almost suddenly—the trees open to reveal your reward: Lake Annette, a small, glacier-fed gem hidden beneath sheer rock walls and alpine silence. This is the kind of place that feels “found,” not visited. 

 We’ll enjoy lunch at our favourite lakeside spot among sun-warmed boulders, with excellent chances to spot marmots (we see them here often). After a relaxed break, we retrace our steps back down the valley and shuttle you comfortably to your original pickup location—tired legs, full camera, and the satisfaction of having experienced a true Rockies secret.
